La Ballerina - 2019

Choreographic piece for 6 dancers and 1 extra

Four sculptures come alive alternately to embody the life of an anonymous dancer. From four key moments of a fictional life, this piece reveals a story of universal life made of dreams, disillusions but also daily battles. To symbolize the choice of dance moments, the narrator is a sculptress who tells what she chose to freeze in the stone after her encounter with the Ballerina.

Going back in time, from the wound that painfully ended her career to the joy of the first dance class, to the excitement of the stage and the ambivalent feelings that surrounded her during her training, the sculptress scene a path of life danced. This journey ends with an apotheosis finale where the Ballerina meets each of her memories inhabited by the love of the movement to be reconciled with them.

Colorful and eclectic, the costumes of the dancers marry the raw world and stripped of the sequined sculpture of the stage in a series of sketches that play on the extremes that go through life.
